Description
Our Pure Meat Sticks are as close to just meat as a stick can get, and they are small enough to keep a pocketful for walks. Choose kangaroo, venison, rabbit or ostrich.
Why they matter to us
All four are novel proteins, meaning most dogs have never eaten them. For a dog who reacts to beef, chicken or pork, that is the whole point. We started Wag & Whistle because our Rory could not tolerate anything on the shelves, so a single-protein treat is not a marketing line here, it is the reason we do this.
Key features
- Around 7g a stick. As a natural product, sizes vary.
- 97% meat, 3% tapioca. The tapioca comes from cassava root and simply holds the stick together. No additives, no preservatives, no grain or gluten.
- Single protein. Kangaroo, venison, rabbit and ostrich are all uncommon enough that most dogs have no history with them.
- High in protein. From 47.2% in the rabbit up to 74.2% in the ostrich.
- Ostrich is the leanest. At 5.8% fat, ostrich is the pick for a dog watching their weight. Rabbit is 8.5%, kangaroo 11% and venison 13.8%.
- Easy to break up. Snap into smaller pieces for training, or hand over whole.
Worth knowing
These are quick, tasty treats rather than long chews. For something to keep them busy for an afternoon, try a Buffalo Horn or a Jumbo Paddywack.
Suitable for puppies from 4 weeks through to senior dogs.
Please supervise your dog while they enjoy this treat, and make sure fresh water is always available. As a natural product, sizes may vary slightly.
Not sure which meat to try? The Mixed Meat Medley has all four in one bag.
