Terms of service
Wag & Whistle, Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These terms govern your use of wagandwhistle.co.uk and any order you place with us. Please read them before ordering. By placing an order you're agreeing to them.
We've tried to write this in plain English rather than legal fog. If anything is unclear, email hello@wagandwhistle.co.uk and we'll explain.
Who we are
Wag & Whistle is a family-run business selling natural dog treats and chews, delivering across the UK.
We trade as J. Yardley, 24 Hibbitt Close, Leabrooks, Alfreton, DE55 1NF.
Contact us any time at hello@wagandwhistle.co.uk.
About our products
We source and hand-pick our treats. We don't manufacture them. Everything we sell is chosen from suppliers in the UK and Europe against our own standards.
Our treats are complementary pet food, meant as treats and rewards alongside a complete, balanced diet. They aren't a replacement for your dog's meals.
They are not veterinary medicines. Nothing we sell is intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any condition. If your dog is unwell, or you have concerns about their diet, please speak to your vet.
Natural products vary. Size, shape, colour, texture and weight differ from one item to the next, and between batches. Our photographs show a representative example rather than the exact item you'll receive. Where we give a weight or length, treat it as approximate unless we've said otherwise.
Using our treats safely
Please supervise your dog whenever they're chewing, make sure fresh water is available, and take a chew away once it's worn down small enough to swallow.
Choose treats suited to your dog's size, age and chewing strength. Our product pages give guidance, and our puppy range is split by age for that reason.
Every dog is different. If your dog has a health condition, allergies, dental problems, or a history of gulping rather than chewing, check with your vet before introducing anything new.
Placing an order
You must be 18 or over to order from us.
When you place an order, you'll get an email confirming we've received it. That email is an acknowledgement, not acceptance. A contract between us is formed when we email to confirm your order has been dispatched.
If we can't fulfil an order, because something is out of stock, we can't take payment, or we spot an obvious pricing error, we'll tell you and refund anything you've paid in full.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Delivery is charged separately and shown at checkout before you pay.
We may change prices at any time, but changes won't affect an order we've already accepted.
Obvious pricing errors. Occasionally something may be listed at the wrong price. Where an error is obvious and you could reasonably have recognised it as a mistake, we're not obliged to supply at that price. We'll contact you and you can confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
Payment is taken at checkout through Shopify Payments and the other providers shown. We don't see or store your full card details.
Discount codes and offers
Discount codes are for the use stated when issued, can't be exchanged for cash, and can't be combined with other offers unless we say so.
We may withdraw or change an offer at any time, though not for orders already placed.
We may cancel an order and refuse future orders where a code has been misused, for example by repeatedly creating accounts to reuse a first-order discount.
Delivery
Delivery times, costs and areas are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Delivery estimates are estimates. We'll always tell you if something is delayed.
Risk in the goods passes to you when they're delivered to the address you gave us.
Cancellations, returns and refunds
Your rights to cancel, return items and get a refund are set out in our Returns and Refunds Policy, which also forms part of these terms.
Nothing in these terms reduces your legal rights as a consumer.
Join the Pack subscriptions
If you subscribe, the following applies.
Payment is taken automatically on your chosen schedule until you cancel. The amount and frequency are confirmed to you by email when you subscribe and before each renewal.
You can skip a delivery, pause, or cancel at any time from your account, or by emailing us. Please do so at least 48 hours before your renewal date so we can stop the payment in time.
If a payment fails, we'll email you and try again automatically over the following few days. If it still doesn't go through, we'll skip that box rather than keep trying. Your subscription stays active and carries on as normal next time, and you won't be charged for a box you didn't receive.
Cancelling stops future boxes. It doesn't automatically refund one already dispatched, though the returns policy still applies.
We'll always tell you in advance of a price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Box contents are chosen by us and vary each month. We can't guarantee any specific item appears.
Your account
Keep your login details to yourself. You're responsible for activity on your account.
Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
We may suspend or close an account where these terms are being broken.
Reviews and photos you share
If you leave a review or share a photo with us, including tagging us on social media, you're giving us permission to reproduce it on our website and channels, with credit where we can.
Please only post things that are your own, honest, and not offensive. We may remove anything that isn't.
Our content
The text, photographs, logo and design on this site belong to us or our suppliers, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law.
You're welcome to browse, share links, and print pages for your own use. Please don't copy our product photography or descriptions for commercial use without asking.
Acceptable use
Please don't use the site to do anything unlawful, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, introduce anything malicious, or scrape it systematically.
Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of our breaking them or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for anything unforeseeable.
We don't exclude or limit our liability where the law doesn't allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breaches of your statutory rights as a consumer.
We supply our products for domestic and private use. If you use them for any commercial purpose we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption. Trade customers should order through our separate trade site.
Things outside our control
We're not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as courier disruption, extreme weather, supplier failure, or power and network outages. If one happens we'll contact you as soon as we can and, where the delay is substantial, you can cancel and be refunded for anything not delivered.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.
If something goes wrong
Please email hello@wagandwhistle.co.uk first. We're a small team and we'd rather fix it than argue about it.
If we can't resolve it between us, Citizens Advice offers free, independent guidance on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
