Questions we get asked

The ones that come up most about this range

Is buffalo good for dogs?

Every buffalo chew here is a single ingredient, air-dried with nothing added, and high in protein. The horn and both wraps are in our low fat range. The two collagen chews are richer at 25.5% fat, so they are best as a treat rather than every day.

Are buffalo horn chews safe?

Horn is a hard chew, so it suits a steady gnawer aged 6 months and over, with supervision. If your dog likes to bite down hard, the Yak Bar softens as they chew and is a better fit.

How long does a buffalo horn last?

Three to six months. It wears down gradually rather than vanishing in an evening, which makes it ideal for dogs who get through everything else.

How do I make a horn last longer?

Give it for an hour, then wash it, dry it and put it away. It keeps its novelty for months, and you can stuff the hollow end with our Turkey or Duck Pate and freeze it for an even longer session.

Is a buffalo wrap rawhide?

No. Rawhide comes out of the leather trade and gets chemically treated. A buffalo wrap is simply buffalo skin, air-dried, with nothing added.

Which buffalo chew is the leanest?

The Buffalo Horn at just 1.6% fat, with 91.4% protein, the highest of anything in our range.

Why does the horn smell sometimes?

Only while it is being chewed, as saliva rehydrates the surface. Once it is dry again the smell goes.
