Description

Dental HealthHigh ProteinLong LastingLow Fat

Meet the Buffalo Wrap's scruffier cousin. Our Furry Buffalo Wrap is 100% buffalo skin, rolled and air-dried with the fur left on, and it is one of the leanest long chews we sell.

Key features

  • Around 30g a wrap. As a natural product, sizes vary.
  • One ingredient. Buffalo skin, fur and all. No additives, no preservatives.
  • Very lean. 68.8% protein and just 4.4% fat, which puts it in our low fat range.
  • Fur on. The natural fur acts as a gentle fibre source. Traditionally fed as a natural wormer, though it is an addition to a healthy gut rather than a substitute for your vet's worming treatment.
  • A proper chew. Tough and satisfying, so most dogs settle in for a good long session.

Is it rawhide?

No. Rawhide is a by-product of the leather trade. This is simply buffalo skin, air-dried, with nothing added.

Worth knowing

The fur can leave the odd tuft on the rug, so it makes a great garden chew. Swap it out once it is small enough to swallow whole.

Suitable for puppies from 12 weeks, with supervision, through to senior dogs.

Please supervise your dog while they enjoy this treat, and make sure fresh water is always available. As a natural product, sizes may vary slightly.

Questions We Get Asked +

Why is the fur left on?

Deliberately. Fur acts as roughage, giving the gut something to work against, which is why raw feeders often look for the furry versions of things. It is a useful addition to a healthy gut, not a substitute for your vet's worming treatment. Keep doing what your vet advises.

It looks a bit alarming. Is that normal?

Completely. Everyone says the same thing the first time. Your dog will not give it a second thought, and the fur is meant to be there.

Is it rawhide?

No. Rawhide comes from the leather trade and is usually chemically treated, and it swells in the stomach rather than digesting. This is buffalo skin, air-dried, with nothing added. It breaks down properly.

Should I get this or the plain one?

Go furry if you want the roughage or you feed raw and are used to it. Go plain if the fur puts you off or your dog is new to natural chews. Same chew otherwise.

What age can they start?

From 12 weeks with supervision. There is nothing hard in it, so it is gentle on new teeth.

Feeding Instructions +
Give under supervision and always with fresh water nearby. Take the chew away once it has been worn down small enough to swallow, and let your dog rest between sessions rather than leaving it down all day. As a natural product, size, shape and colour vary from one to the next.
