Questions we get asked

The ones that come up most about this range

Are yak chews good for dogs?

Our Yak Bar is one ingredient, Himalayan yak milk, with no additives or preservatives. It is 59.2% protein and just 5.2% fat, which puts it in our low fat range, and it is chicken free.

Can my dog have a yak chew every day?

At 5.2% fat it is one of the leaner long chews, so it suits regular chewing better than a richer chew. Pop away any small pieces that break off.

How long does a yak bar last?

A very long time. It is one of the most durable chews in our range, and it softens slowly as your dog works at it rather than staying rock hard.

What do I do with the last bit?

When it is down to a stub too small to chew safely, microwave it on full power for 30 to 60 seconds and it puffs up like a marshmallow. Let it cool for at least five minutes first, as the centre comes out well above 80 degrees, and check it against your wrist.

Are yak chews safe for puppies?

For medium and large breeds, from 12 weeks with supervision. For small breeds, wait until six months.

Yak bar or buffalo horn?

If your dog likes to bite down hard, the Yak Bar is the better pick, because it softens as they chew. For an even longer chew, try the Buffalo Horn.
