The classic. Ask any dog to name their favourite treat and there is a good chance it is this one. Our Large Pig Ears are 100% pork, air-dried, with nothing added.

How long do they last?

It depends on the dog. A small dog will make one last around half an hour, a medium dog about ten minutes and a large dog about five. For a longer chew for a big dog, try a Buffalo Horn or a Beef Pizzle.

Worth knowing

Pig ears are a richer treat, so once or twice a week is plenty. If your dog needs a lower fat diet, the Cow Ear is a leaner ear at 6.4% fat.

Are pig ears good for dogs?

Yes as an occasional treat, no as a daily one. That is the honest answer. For a healthy dog, once or twice a week, they are a genuinely good chew.

Do vets recommend pig ears?

Opinions vary, and the reason is the fat. Ours run around 20%, which is simply what a pig's ear is. If your dog has had pancreatitis, or your vet has warned you about it, do not give pig ears at all. Same if they are on a diet or have a delicate stomach. Our low fat range is all under 10% fat with the figures shown on every page.

What are the benefits?

One ingredient, 68.4% protein, and a natural source of collagen. The chewing action works at plaque too. They are also a great alternative to rawhide, which is often chemically treated.

How long does one last?

Roughly 30 minutes for a small dog, 10 for a medium one, about 5 for a large one. An ear is soft and flat, so there is not much to work against. It is a treat rather than an occupier.
