A beef trachea looks like something from a school science lesson, and dogs could not care less. Our Beef Trachea is 100% beef windpipe, air-dried into a crunchy, ribbed tube with a hollow middle that is just asking to be stuffed.

Key features

  • Around 37g a trachea. As a natural product, sizes vary.
  • One ingredient. Beef trachea, air-dried. No additives, no preservatives.
  • High in protein. 72.1% protein and 17.9% fat.
  • Mostly cartilage. A natural source of chondroitin, glucosamine and collagen.
  • Bone free. A satisfying crunch with no bone in it.
  • Made for stuffing. Fill it with our Turkey Pate or Duck Pate, pop it in the freezer, and you have a proper boredom buster.

Worth knowing

It is one of our richer chews, so if your dog is watching their waistline, the Beef Tripe Stick is a leaner pick at 6.9% fat.

Suitable for puppies from 12 weeks, with supervision.

Please supervise your dog while they enjoy this treat, and make sure fresh water is always available. As a natural product, sizes may vary slightly.

Questions We Get Asked +

Is beef trachea healthy for dogs?

Yes, and it is one of the few chews with a genuine reason behind it beyond taste. Trachea is cartilage, so it is naturally rich in glucosamine, chondroitin and collagen. It is bone free, single ingredient and 72.1% protein.

Is it low in fat?

Not really, and you will see plenty of places claim otherwise. Ours runs at 17.9% fat, which is a little under a pig's ear but nowhere near lean. Fine for a healthy dog. If yours is on a diet or has had pancreatitis, a beef tripe stick at 6.9% fat does a similar job.

Is there anything in it for joints?

Trachea is mostly cartilage, so it is a natural source of glucosamine, chondroitin and collagen. It is a tasty chew that happens to contain them, not a supplement, so if you have any concerns about your dog's joints, have a chat with your vet.

Does it clean their teeth?

The ridged texture scrapes at plaque as they work through it, which helps. No chew replaces brushing, but this is one of the better ones for it.

Can I stuff it?

That is the best thing about it. Trachea is a hollow tube. Pack the middle with our turkey or duck pate, freeze it for a few hours, and a chew that would have gone in minutes keeps them busy for far longer.

What age can a puppy have one?

From around 12 weeks, with you watching. It is soft enough to be a sensible first beef chew, and there is no bone in it.
