Description

GourmetHigh ProteinHypoallergenicOmega 3Soft

A taste of the seaside, minus the seagulls. Our Jumbo Sprats are whole Baltic sprats, air-dried and nothing else, and dogs go absolutely daft for them.

Key features

  • 60g to 80g a pouch. See below for why.
  • One ingredient. Whole Baltic sprat, air-dried rather than frozen. No additives, no grain.
  • High in protein. 50% protein and 38% fat.
  • Rich in Omega fatty acids. A natural source of Omega-3 and Omega-6, supporting heart, cognitive function and a lustrous skin and coat, with natural anti-inflammatory properties.
  • ASC certified. Responsibly sourced, supporting sustainable fishing.
  • High value. Crunchy and irresistible, so they are brilliant for training, or crumbled over dinner.

About the pouch weight

Each pouch holds between 60g and 80g. Sprats are whole fish and they are not all the same size, so we fill by pouch rather than to an exact weight. Some pouches come in heavier than others. We would rather say so than print a figure we cannot stand behind on every single bag.

Worth knowing

Sprats are naturally oily, which is where all those Omega oils come from, so a few at a time is plenty. For a leaner fishy chew, try the Cod Skin Braid at 4% fat.

Suitable for puppies from 12 weeks, with supervision.

Please supervise your dog while they enjoy this treat, and make sure fresh water is always available. As a natural product, sizes may vary slightly.

Questions We Get Asked +

Are the bones and heads safe?

Yes. Sprats are fed whole and that is how they are meant to be eaten. They are small, air-dried rather than cooked, and the bones are soft enough to crunch straight through. It is the same principle as a raw diet, just dried.

How many can I give?

A few at a time is plenty, counted towards the day's food. They are small and it is easy to hand over far more than you meant to, because dogs will keep asking.

Do they help with itchy skin?

Sprats are rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6, which support skin and coat condition and have natural anti-inflammatory properties. Plenty of people use them for exactly that. If your dog has a genuine skin problem, that is a conversation for your vet rather than something a treat will fix.

Do they smell?

They are dried fish, so yes. Keep the pouch sealed and they are fine in the cupboard.

Where do they come from?

Ours are ASC certified, which means responsibly sourced against a recognised sustainability standard rather than just us saying so.

Good for training?

Very. They are small, high value, and most dogs will do almost anything for one. Just count them into the day's total.
