Description

High ProteinHypoallergenicLow FatOmega 3Sensitive StomachsSoft

Fish skin smells exactly like you would expect, and dogs think that is the best bit. Our Cod Skin Braid is 100% cod skin, tightly braided and dried, so it takes longer to get through than a flat piece of skin.

Cod skin is naturally rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which help support a healthy, glossy coat, reduce inflammation, and promote brain and heart function.

Key features

  • Around 29g a braid. As a natural product, sizes vary.
  • One ingredient. Cod skin. No additives, no preservatives, no grain.
  • Lean. 80% protein and just 4% fat, which puts it in our low fat range.
  • Rich in Omega-3. A tasty way to add a little fish to their week.
  • Braided for longer chewing. More texture and more to work through.
  • Kind to older mouths. Chewy rather than hard, so it suits puppies and seniors too.

Worth knowing

That fishy aroma does linger on the breath for a bit, so maybe skip the goodnight kiss. For a crunchier fishy treat, try our Jumbo Sprats.

Suitable for puppies from 12 weeks, with supervision.

Please supervise your dog while they enjoy this treat, and make sure fresh water is always available. As a natural product, sizes may vary slightly.

Questions We Get Asked +

Does it smell of fish?

Yes. It is dried cod skin, so there is no getting round it. Dogs think this is the best thing about it. If you would rather keep fish out of the living room, give it outside or on a mat.

Why is it braided?

A single strip of cod skin disappears in seconds. Braiding it makes it far denser and gives the teeth something to work into, so it lasts considerably longer and does more for plaque along the way.

What is the Omega-3 actually doing?

Fish skin is one of the better natural sources of it, and Omega-3 is associated with skin, coat and joint health. If your dog is itchy or their coat looks dull, this is a sensible treat to have in the rotation. It is a treat rather than a supplement, so do not expect it to fix a skin condition on its own.

Is fish good for dogs with allergies?

It is one of the best options going. Fish is a genuinely novel protein for most dogs, so there is nothing for them to have built up a reaction to. If beef, chicken and pork are all out, start here.

What age can a puppy have one?

From 12 weeks. It is a firm chew but not a hard one, so it will not trouble new teeth.
