Description

Chicken FreeDental HealthHigh ProteinHypoallergenicLong LastingLow Fat

Tendon on its own is chewy. Plait three together and you have a chew that even the most determined dog has to take seriously. Our Braided Tendon is 100% beef tendon, braided and air-dried, with nothing else added.

Key features

  • Around 38g a braid. As a natural product, sizes vary.
  • One ingredient. Beef tendon, air-dried. No additives, no preservatives, not rawhide.
  • Lean. 81.2% protein and just 5.3% fat, which puts it in our low fat range.
  • Longer lasting than a single tendon. The braid gives them a lot more to work through.
  • Properly chewy. Something far more interesting to chew than your slippers.

Worth knowing

Pop it away once the last piece is small enough to swallow whole. After something that lasts even longer? Try the Jumbo Paddywack or the Buffalo Wrap.

Suitable for puppies from 12 weeks, with supervision.

Please supervise your dog while they enjoy this treat, and make sure fresh water is always available. As a natural product, sizes may vary slightly.

Questions We Get Asked +

What is a braided tendon?

Beef tendon, tightly braided into a rope. The braiding is what makes it. It creates a tough, textured surface that takes real work to get through, so it lasts considerably longer than a single straight tendon.

How is it different from a bully stick or paddywack?

Three different parts of the animal. A bully stick is dried beef pizzle, paddywack is the neck ligament, and tendon is what connects muscle to bone. Tendon is the chewiest of the three and the highest in collagen.

Is it better than rawhide?

Considerably, and it is why we sell one and not the other. Rawhide is a by-product of the leather trade, often chemically treated, and it swells in the stomach rather than breaking down. Tendon is meat. It digests properly.

Will it stop my dog chewing the furniture?

It gives them somewhere better to put the urge, which is usually most of the problem. A dog with nothing to chew will find something, and it is rarely something you wanted them to have.

Is it good for their teeth?

The braided texture works into the gaps and scrapes at plaque as they chew, more so than a smooth chew would. It is also a softer chew than a horn or an antler, so it suits gentler chewers too.

Feeding Instructions +
Give under supervision and always with fresh water nearby. Take the chew away once it has been worn down small enough to swallow, and let your dog rest between sessions rather than leaving it down all day. As a natural product, size, shape and colour vary from one to the next.
