Questions we get asked

The ones that come up most about this range

What can a teething puppy chew on?

Something with a bit of give, like a rabbit ear, a bladder twist or a beef trachea. Soft enough not to hurt sore gums, tough enough to be worth the effort.

Are hard chews OK for puppies?

Not yet. Horns and antlers should wait until their adult teeth are fully through, at around six months.

How long should a puppy chew for?

Short sessions of 10 to 15 minutes, then put it away for later. Stay nearby while they chew.

Why do puppies need to chew?

Chewing is how they soothe sore gums while their teeth come through. Giving them something good to chew also saves your shoes and furniture.

How many chews can a puppy have?

It depends on their size and age. Our dog treat calculator has puppy settings to work it out.
