Is the bone safe?

The distinction that matters is dried versus cooked. Cooking makes bone brittle and prone to splintering, which is why a bone from your own kitchen is a bad idea. These are air-dried, so the bone stays soft enough to break down properly. Supervise every time, and if your dog swallows things whole rather than chewing them, choose a boneless chew instead.

How does it compare to a duck or chicken neck?

Bigger, and it lasts longer as a result. A duck neck is a decent chew for a small or medium dog. A turkey neck gives a large dog something to actually work at. On fat they are close, with a turkey neck at 22.7% and a duck neck at 27.9%, so pick on size rather than nutrition.

My dog reacts to chicken. Is turkey different enough?

For most dogs, yes. They are both poultry, so it is not as clean a break as switching to beef or rabbit, but plenty of chicken-sensitive dogs handle turkey without any trouble. Introduce it slowly and see how they get on.

Is it good for joints?

Necks are naturally rich in glucosamine and chondroitin, which is why they get recommended for older or active dogs. It is a good chew that happens to contain them rather than a supplement, so treat it as part of the diet.

What age can a puppy start?

From 12 weeks, with you watching, though for a small pup a duck foot is the more sensible size to begin with.
